DescriptionThe council chamber in Swansea Guildhall - geograph.org.uk - 1491171.jpg
English: The council chamber in Swansea Guildhall This chamber is extensively covered in exotic hardwood and has a tapestry running all around it below the ceiling.
For example, the supporting steel & concrete pillars are clad in scalloped shells of walnut. The shells are made from two single pieces each spanning the entire height of the column and carved from a whole tree.
The chamber is now too precious to be used for everyday meetings and is only used for special occasions.
