English: The Waiting Miner, Dover On Marine Parade. The buildings in the background are apartments of The Gateway complex. The sculpture has a plaque which reads 'This statue, sculpted by H. Phillips and was commissioned by the C.E.G.B. and sited by Richborough Power Station in 1996. It was relocated to this site, beside the former Kent National Coal Board and National Union of Mineworkers Offices for Kent, following the closure of Richborough Power Station in September 1997, the statue was donated to Dover District Council by Powergen.' There are now plans to move it again, this time to a Fowlmead Country Park, a former Mineworks site.
