The steep slope to the left shows the distinctive bands of the Ballagan Beds (or Ballagan Formation); compare NS4178 : Ballagan Beds in Auchenreoch Glen and NS4377 : Ballagan Beds in Overtoun Glen.
The lighter, thinner bands are of cementstone nodules, many of which have eroded out of the slope, ending up in the bed of the burn: NS4378 : Cementstone nodules in the Spouts Burn.
