Summary

Description
English: The Sandcliff Hotel. A datestone indicates that is was built in 1895 > 791348. With the arrival of the railway line in 1877, and with the Great Eastern running the 'Norfolk Coast Express' direct from London's Liverpool Street to Cromer, stopping only once (in North Walsham) by 1897, architects were commissioned to erect tall red brick houses with bay windows, gables, dormers and the occasional domed angle turret. The principal architect was G.J. Skipper of Norwich.
