Summary

Description
English: The Queen's School, Chester. Founded in 1878, the School would change its name within four years, when Queen Victoria issued a royal decree commanding that the School should "henceforth be known as "The Queen's School". It is a source of great pride that The Queen's School remains the only school in this country granted the privilege of bearing this name and would subsequently provide Chester with its first female solicitor, its first lady mayor, the first woman to receive the freedom of the city and, most recently, the first woman president of the Freemen and Guilds in over 800 years.
