The moment they saw hercoming, Lina lay down flat on the road, and withher two huge forepaws covered her mouth, whileCurdie went to meet her, holding out his arms.The little one came straight to him, and held upher mouth to be kissed. At thedoor stood the grandmother to receive them. Shecaught the child to her bosom with delight at hercourage, welcomed Curdie, and showed no dreadof Lina.
