Summary

Description I had read on another site that the Phil. monkey eating eagle does not actually eat monkeys. Natives used monkey meat to trap the bird and kill it, as it used to target their live stock. Due to this affinity for the monkey meat, the bird came to be known as the monkey eating eagle. Well, whatever rocks your boat! Here is another shot of that faraway eagle. The fellow kept hiding his face behind the patch of leaves you see at the extreme right, and it took me quite a while to capture this and the previous shot. (Davao, Philippines, May 2013)
