DescriptionThe Old Midland Bank - geograph.org.uk - 239331.jpg
English: The Old Midland Bank. This building on the corner of Silver Street and Lowgate is now a wine bar. Formerly the Midland Bank 1869-70 by William Botterill. Pevsner says "..three-storeyed, Ancaster stone, Italianate with tiers of pilasters and round-arched windows. Entrance at the corner with polished Aberdeen columns supporting a stone arched canopy.". Reminds me of the NatWest TV commercial "..my bank is now a trendy wine bar..".
