Summary
DescriptionThe National Archives UK - CO 1069-214-127.jpg |
Description: English: From a Photo by All[?] MOSSEL BAY. — This is an important seaport town of some 4,000 inhabitants, which serves a very wide district, embracing the divisions of Riversdale, Ladismith, Oudtshoorn, Willowmore, and Uniondale, from which ostrich feathers, tobacco, oranges, and general produce of all kinds are exported for home and colonial markets. There are no docks of any kind, but a new landing jetty has been constructed, which greatly facilitates the landing and shipping of cargo. A railway is in course of construction to Oudtshoorn. [120]
Afrikaans: Van 'n foto deur All[?] MOSSELBAAI. [120]
