English: Built in 1920, the Giru International Hotel was originally one of three hotels in
the small township that is home to workers at the Giru Mill. A large two-storey
timber pub, these days it is a favourite stopover point for fishermen heading for
the Haughton River or out into Cleveland Bay to chase barramundi, mud crabs
and some of the best fishing in North Queensland. The pub has a strong fishing
