| Description |
English: Great Northern No. 1147 is a Class F-8 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type steam locomotive that was built in August 1902 by the Rogers Locomotive and Machine Works in Paterson, New Jersey for the Great Northern Railway (US). No. 1147 moved west in 1916 where it was assigned to the Leavenworth, Washington, area and, later, moved to Wenatchee, Washington where it would serve pulling freight trains along the railway during its working carrier. In the 1950s, the Great Northern retired most of their steam locomotives including No. 1147 which was officially withdrawn in June of 1956. Instead of scrapping the engine, it was donated to the City of Wenatchee, Washington and put on static display in Mission Street Park where it still currently resides to this day. |
