Sufervisor and Assistant Supervisor (respectively)Royal Victoria Montreal Maternity Hospital The great importance of breast milkin the feeding of premature infants hasalways been recognized at the RoyalVictoria Montreal Maternity Hospital,and to this end for several years, wetnurses were employed, although thispractice did not always prove satisfac-tory. The need of having on hand, atall times, a fresh supply of human milk,and the difficulty of adjusting the fluc-tuation of supply and demand, led us JANUARY, 1939 early in the spring of 1936 to investi-gate the methods used in Boston. Twenty-eight years ago, Dr. FritzB. Talbot organized and developed inBoston an institution which to-day isknown as the Directory for MothersMilk, Inc.
