Inscribed: "For the Benefit of the Families of the killed in the Allied Fleet on the Coast of Syria, To the Honble. Sir R. Stopford, G.C.B, G.C.M.G. Admiral of the Red, Rear-Admiral of Great Britain and Commander in Chief of the Allied Fleet. This Plate of the Bombardment and Capture of St Jean D'Acre, is by permission, respectfully dedicated by his obliged & obedt Servant, The Author", surrounded with a detailed key. The bombardment took place on 3 November 1840.

Lieut. John Frederick Warre (27 November 1815 – 3 July 1847) of the Royal Navy, served on HMS Vanguard, died while serving in China.
