Summary
[edit]Description | “The Maratha Confederacy, at its peak, extended from Tamil Nadu in the south, to Peshawar (modern-day Pakistan) in the north, and Orrisa in the east." This expansion was achieved through various military campaigns and conquests. The empire defeated the Mughals, Afghans, Sultanate of Mysore under Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, the Nawab of Oudh, the Nizam of Hyderabad, the Nawab of Bengal, Nawab of Sindh and the Nawab of Arcot as well as the Polygar kingdoms of South India. They extracted chauth from the rulers in Delhi, Oudh, Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Rajputana.[1] |

Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Maratha Empire |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | The image will demonstrate the Marathas territorial limit. The image which is used now doesn't demonstrate the boundaries correctly since it frequently changed throughout this empire's rule but this one is more descriptive and clearly analyses different sorts of suzerainty over territories by this i mean to say chauth a kind of tax imposed by Marathas on areas out of direct control and other things. |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
I think this one is best out of all and none of what you are asking exists till now. I have been researching about this for 2 years and I find it best out of all that exist till date. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | This will be used one or two times only as this shows a broader territorial overview of Marathas throughout their rule couldn't be used everywhere. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
The images from this book have been uploaded on Wikipedia before too (like see Gupta Empire wiki article's first image) and so i believe it will not harm any commercial interest. |
