Summary

Description
English: Théâtre de la Renaissance in Paris, which opened on 8 March 1873. The Porte Saint-Martin is in front of the theatre (on the left in the picture). The scaffolding visible to the right behind the Théâtre de la Renaissance is likely due to the reconstruction following the destruction by fire of the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin in 1871 during the Paris Commune. The Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin is located immediately behind (east of) the Théâtre de la Renaissance.
