Summary

Description

Tetrao urogallus (mating display). Erkylä, Hausjärvi, Finland. 21.4.2018

Today I visited this capercaillie once again. The first time was with skis on 30.3.2018 when all ground was snow covered. Now I have become so familiar with this capercaillie that I learn all the time it's habbits. This time I learned how much it likes to step on fallen trees in front of me. I thought it would just jump over the fallen tree and go after me but I could get on my knees some three metres distance and take photos while it walked to one direction and turned and walked to another direction. And this happened four times with other fallen trees also so it become like a habit to this bird. For me this was the first time seeing this habbit of this capercaillie.
