Descrizione: Il personaggio è raffigurato a mezzo busto, di profilo, con veste rossa e collo alto profilato di bianco, copricapo verde su cui posa una corona d'alloro con foglie verde pallido.

Notizie storico-critiche: La tavoletta fa parte di una serie di quattro raffiguranti altrettanti poeti [...], che appartengono tutte evidentemente ad una stessa mano. Sul retro di una di esse si legge "attribuito ad Angelica Kaufmann". L'attribuzione dovrebbe stendersi anche al ritratto di Dante. L'autore però è piuttosto un modesto artista della prima metà del secolo XIX. L'opera fu trafugata insieme alle altre nel 1997 e venne recuperata l'anno successivo.
