DescriptionTerminal Warehouse Central Stores Building closeup.jpg
The Terminal Warehouse Central Stores Building is located on Eleventh Avenue between 27th and 28th Streets in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Opened in 1891, freight was transferred here from a New York Central and Hudson Railroad freight line which ran down 11th Avenue -- and via a siding directly into the building -- to and from Erie-Lackawanna freight cars floated across the Hudson on barges from Hoboken, New Jersey. For many years in the late 20th century and early 21st century a nightclub, Tunnel, has located there. The building is part of the West Chelsea Historic District.
