View northward, towards Selby and Hull, also formerly York etc. Until the Selby Deviation was opened in 10/83, which branches off just to the south to pass west of Selby and joins the Leeds - York main line at Colton Junction, this ex-NER line was the (Doncaster) - Shaftholme Junction - Selby stretch of the East Coast Main Line. The station was closed to passengers 6/3/61 (goods 6/7/64).
