• Weems and his band were based in Chicago from about 1928 until 1942, when Weems joined the Merchant Marine.
• Photos of Weems taken by William P. Gottlieb in 1940 which are part of the Gottlieb Collection housed at the Library of Congress depict a much older man than shown in this photo. The hairline is more receded in the 1940 photos.
• Ted Weems died in 1963, so the photo certainly qualifies for the pre-1978 category.
