Description
العربية: « بسمله … هذا تربة العبد الفقير الى الله تعالى المقرّ الأشرف السيفي طاز توفّي رحمه الله سنة ثلث وستّين وسبعمئة »
English: An inscription on an window lintel at the Ṭāziyya: the basmala, then “This is the turba (mausoleum) of the servant yearning for God, the Exalted: His Most Noble Excellency Sayf ad-Dīn Ṭāz [an-Nāṣirī]. Passed away – may God have mercy on him – in the year 763 AH [1361 or 1362 CE].”[2]
  • Two identical Mamluk emblems flank the inscription: a cup/goblet, for a sāqī (cup-bearer),[3] in this case, Ṭāz an-Nāṣirī.
Above the lintel is a course of joggled stones.
