| Description |
English: A map of the city Tampa in Florida, 1918. It was the nearest adequate port in America to the Panama Canal. The map shows a birds eye view of the city and a general outline of rail and water facilities, harbor developments and 24-foot channels completed in 1917. The Port of Tampa has wooden and steel steamships. The city made more hand-made clear Havana cigars than any city in the world.
The map was made by the Barnes-Crosby Company in Chicago. The poster was prepared by the Tampa Board of Trade. A reproduction was published on Tampa Day, 29 September 1974. |
