Description
English: The Tabard Inn located at 1739 N St NW in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The hotel, established in 1924, incorporates three former houses. 1737 (left, Queen Anne architecture) was built in 1887 for socialite Caroline Sherman. 1739 (center, Renaissance Revival architecture) was built in 1900 for Colonel Frank Lee Denny and designed by Hornblower & Marshall. 1741 (right, Queen Anne and Richardsonian Romanesque architectures) was built in 1888 for Mary A. Casey, widow of Representative Joseph Casey. The hotel is a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District, and it was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.
