English: A young Ta-Oy woman in Salavan province of Laos spreads a green leaf, known as pak gat, in the sun. There are many types of pak gat; this one can be added to sauces to give a sour flavor. The Ta-Oy are one of the 49 ethnic groups recognized by the Lao government; most live in the southern region of the country. |
