English: The Pioneer Woman Monument at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. Sculptor Leo Friedlander designed the figurative portion to memorialize 19th-century Texas pioneer women. The Piccirilli Brothers, of New York, carved Friedlander’s design into marble. The monument was commissioned for the 1936 Texas Centennial and dedicated in 1938. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 19, 2018.
