DescriptionTREE HILL, RICHMOND VICINITY, HENRICO COUNTY, VA.jpg
English: GREEK REVIVAL STYLE PLANTATION HOUSE AND VISITED IN 1824 BY LAFAYETTE ON HIS FAREWELL TOUR OF THE FORMER COLONIES. IT ALSO WAS THE SITE OF ONE OF AMERICA’S FIRST RACE TRACK AND ALSO THE SITE WHERE MAJOR JOSEPH MAYO SURRENDERED RICHMOND TO UNION FORCES IN 1865.
THIS IS NOT A VERY GOOD PICTURE. THE HOUSE IS PRESENTLY EMPTY, THE LARGE ACREAGE HAS BEEN RECENTLY SOLD AND ALL THE ROADS INTO THE PROPERTY ARE COMPLETELY CLOSED OFF. I TOOK THIS WITH A LONG TELEPHOTO LENS AND IT IS LOUSY BUT THE BEST I COULD DO.
