Description
English: Sydney Paddle Steamer "Phantom" (1858-1886) at Dawes Point. In this fine image can be seen the PHANTOM in the area now known as Campbells Cove. Campbells warehouse at far right still exist. At rear, centre, is the Customs House before additions were made. At least three ocean-going sailing ships are alongside the stone quay while a smaller ship is hoping for wind as she drifts in the Cove. PHANTOM was the first double-ended steamer on the Manly run.
