Summary

Description
English: Swarabat, Origin: About 1500 years old, Region: South India. Material: Wood (body) and silk thread strings. The head is carved down into the shape of a parrot. Although popularly called Swarabat, the correct name is swaragat. It features in the painting 'Lady Playing Swarabat' by famous painter Raja Ravi Varma. Travancore King Swati Tirunal was an expert in playing this instrument.
தமிழ்: ஸ்வரபத், நரம்பு இசைக்கருவி, காலம்: சுமார் 1500 ஆண்டுகள் பழமையானது, இடம்: தென் இந்தியா. மூலப்பொருள்: மரம் பட்டு நூல் நரம்பு. இதன் தலைப்பகுதி கிளியைப் போன்று வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. சரியான பெயர் "ஸ்வரபத்" புகழ்பெற்ற ஒவியரான ராஜா ரவிவர்மாவின் "ஸ்வரபத் இசைக்கும் பெண்" என்ற ஒவியத்தில் இது இடம் பெறுகிறது. திருவிதாங்கூர் மன்னர் ஸ்வாதி திருநாள் இதை வாசிப்பதில் வல்லவராக இருந்திருக்கிறார்.
