English: Tennessee Historical Commission marker at the Swaggerty Blockhouse site near Parrottsville, in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The dense brush spanning the photo on the other side of the blockhouse marks the direction of Clear Creek. While local sources believed the blockhouse was built in 1787 by early settlers, recent evidence suggests it was a cantilever barn built around 1860. The wellhouse below was added in the middle 20th century.
