"L’identification de la toile conservée à Zürich fut rendue possible grâce à l’estampe de Drevet. Toutefois, la lettre fragmentaire de celle-ci et l’état tout aussi lacunaire de l’actuelle généalogie ne permettent pas de dire avec certitude si ce personnage féminin était bien Suzanne de Boubers de Bernâtre (morte en 1729) épouse depuis le 9 février 1682 du fondeur Hans-Balthasar Keller vom Steinbock (1638-1702), peint par Rigaud en 1685 ou « Marie » Keller, si l’on se fie au rajout à même l’exemplaire de l’estampe conservé à la Bibliothèque Nationale de France" [1]

  • Paiement inscrit aux livres de comptes en 1686 pour 330 livres (ms. 624, f° 3 : « Mad[am]e Kelair [rajout : Keller], Marie ») ;
  • entré au musée en 1854 ;
  • dans une communication écrite du 17 décembre 1987, Mary O’Neill propose ce tableau comme atelier de Rigaud.
