Printed on panels of brushed aluminum for their durability and reflective qualities, the mural ( 50ft x 10ft ) was installed at the newly opened primary school in Saint- Hyacinthe, Québec, in November, 2022 (photo credit: Pierre Desjardins) This 3 year project was made possible through the government of Québec’s program for the integration of the arts into architecture and the environment, with a grant from the Québec’s Ministère de la Culture et des Communications. The Saint-Hyacinthe primary school is situated in the midst of Domaine sur le Vert near the Yamaska river.

“I worked to create a watercolour landscape that will be printed on durable aluminum, transitioning the language of an art-form traditionally associated with the ephemeral, into that of architecture. Stretched across the mezzanine, my hope is that it will offer both the children and staff a celebration of nature and an inspiration to engage with the outdoors as they contrast the real and imagined on a daily basis.” Susan G.
