In 1953 Swift WK198 achieved a World Airspeed record of 737.7mph, piloted by Mike Lithgow. This took place in Libya.
The fuselage was recovered from a Manchester scrapyard in 1981 and since then it has spent time at NEAM in Sunderland and at the Millom museum, before coming to Brooklands.
It remains privately owned.
