Description
English: Rock cut sculpture inside the Modhera Sun Temple, India. The sculpture depicts an execution or death penalty by the elephant. Execution by elephant was a common method of capital punishment, particularly in India, where Asian elephants were used to crush, dismember, or torture captives in public executions.
