Summary

Description
English: This X-Y plot describes n-value as a function of median bed material grain size as predicted by Strickler's equation. Predicted n-values range from 0.019 for 4 millimeter (mm) gravel to 0.03 for 64 mm gravel. Strickler's equation relates n-value to the sixth root of grain size; therefore, the rate of increase in n-value decreases as grain size increases.
