Summary

Description Stowe House, Kilkhampton, Cornwall, built by John Grenville, 1st Earl of Bath c. 1670/85, demolished 1739. Drawn by Buckler in 1827 from an unknown original depiction. Pencil on paper, length: 26.2 cm width: 35.8 cm. Inscribed: "Stowe House near Kilkhampton in Cornwall, the seat of the Grenville family. This house is supposed to be (sic) rebuilt by John the eldest son of Sir Beville Grenville temp. Charles II. It was taken down early in the 18th century"(sic).
