English: Stoke Field According to popular theory this is the position of the Yorkist Troops at the beginning of the Battle of Stoke Field in 1487. This was the final battle of the Wars of the Roses and was the last ditch attempt of the Earl of Lincoln (Richard III's named successor), and Lord Lovell to over throw Henry VII from the throne. Henry had been declared King of England after the battle of Bosworth in 1483. See 50085
