English: In this grave are the remains of Edgar Bloom Stern, wife Edith Rosenwald Stern, their daughter Audrey Stern Hess, and their son-in-law Thomas B. Hess. The Sterns were notable philanthropists in New Orleans. The inscription on the headstone reads, "Friend Hast Thou Philosophy". Stone replicas of the New Orleans Times-Picayune Loving Cup awards that Edgar and Edith each received are at the front of the gravesite. At the time this photograph was taken, the gravesite was visible from Metairie Road. |
