DescriptionStatue of Sengjia Dashi, Song Dynasty.JPG
English: A Chinese Song Dynasty (960–1279) stone and polychrome statue of Sengjian Dashi (fl. 660–710), a monk from China's Western Regions who founded a temple in Sizhou on the south shore of the Huai River, a temple which is now located in modern day Linhuai, Anhui Province, China. He was posthumously honored with the status of a Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Mercy. He became a cult figure during the Song Dynasty and was believed to prevent floods if prayed to.
