DescriptionState Theatre Oroville Before Opening.jpg
English: In this photograph, the State Theatre (Oroville, California) is shown with the original marquee and blade sign which clearly reads "STATE". The street is clean of road markings, and the sidewalk is bare of trees--a scene which now appears just the opposite.
The full caption reads: "Oroville's new $250,000 theatre, the State, operated by the T. & D. Jr., Enterprises, pictured above, will open its dooros[sic] to theater goers of Butte county tomorrow afternoon and evening for the first performances."
The theatre opened on Saturday, 7 Apr 1928, so this publication will have been released on Friday, 6 Apr 1928.
