The old coal mining site shows small coal trucks on the rail line going up the hill. Several mine buildings are visible. Coal was originally discovered on the site in 1864, but it wasn't until the 1980s that the first commercial shipment of coal was despatched. Today Blair Athol Mine is managed by Rio Tinto Mines. |
