English: 668 GRT sail and steamship Claud Hamilton, built in 1862 by Charles Mitchell & Co of Low Walker, Newcastle-upon-Tyne for the Intercolonial Royal Mail Steam Packet Co of London. In 1867 her owner was renamed the London, Panama, New Zealand & Australia RMSP Co. McMeckan & Blackwood of Melbourne, Australia bought the ship in 1869 and Nipper and See of Sydney, NSW bought her in 1880. The Adelaide Steamship Co of South Australia bought her in 1881. In 1886 the Adelaide SS Co had the ship lengthened from 200 to 231 feet and had a new straight bow built onto her. The rebuilt increased her to 878 GRT and she was renamed Albany. In 1905 she was on charter to the Australasian United Steam Navigation Co when she was wrecked off Nambucca Heads, NSW.
