English: Bradford to Bournemouth West express at Standish Junction.
View northward at Standish Junction, where the four-track main lines from Gloucester and Cheltenham divide into two routes, one (to left) going to Bristol, the other to Swindon. This is a 'classic' view, as it shows not only a characteristic London Midland steam express but also tall surviving ex-Midland Railway signals. The train is the 07.45 Bradford (Forster Square) to Bournemouth West express, which the engine will work as far as Bath (Green Park), whence the train will continue to its destination by the Somerset & Dorset line - closed nearly 50 years ago. The locomotive is LMS 'Jubilee' 6P 4-6-0 No. 45597 'Barbados'
