This statue is created in Italy around 1779.It gifted by Rev. Father Palathumthalakkal Mathan(Adithya Kathanar)
Respected Karthika Thirunnal Maharajav (Ruller of Trivithamkoor province,kerela that time)gifted two elephant husk to father for his respect.
Once Father along with Rev Father Paremmakkal Govarnathore made a visit to Rome by a ship with this husks to present it to Rome.That time some strangers came with a box .They gave that box to them in return to that husks with an advice ,not to open until they reach their destination .Both fathers took it directly to Kadanad church.Both amazed by seeing glorious statue of St Sebastian.They placed that statue in Kadanad Church with all satisfaction.
Since then Kadanad witnessed numerous miracles.................
In 1970's entire kerala intimidated to the wide spread of small pox .People of Kadanad approached St Sebastian with prayers.. Miraculously the specter hounded Kadanad vanished for ever..
Other most amazing fact is that,the statue can't take out of the church except for January 15,16 and 20 th which are the festive days .Once people of kadanad tried to take it out of the church durind 1940's.Then massive Strom along with horrible thunder came from nowhere..Top portion of church broken in that terrifying thunder...after that no one dared to do that.
Millions and millions strongly devote to this spectacular statue even though origination of statue remains mysterious to anyone.
