DescriptionSt Stephen Wigbrough - geograph.org.uk - 394904.jpg
English: St Stephen Wigbrough This is the church of St Stephen the Martyr in Wigbrough. It has two main claims to fame its tower was destroyed in the Great Colchester Earthquake of 1884 http://www.essexwt.org.uk/Geology/earthquake.htm The one in the picture was rebuilt in 1885. Also in WW1 Zeppelin LZ33 was shot down by ground fire and crashed at New Hall Farm Little Wigbrough one of the structural ribs of the airship hung in the Church until very recently. I am not sure why it has been removed.
