Summary

Description Interior of Church of St Paul, Mirfield, West Yorkshire, designed by William Swinden Barber in 1881. Showing south-west corner of nave aisle. The south wall has a brass memorial to the fallen of World War I, and below it a white memorial to the fallen of the Boer War. Above the memorials is a south-wall window by Charles Eamer Kempe, showing King Alfred, St George and King Oswald (see w:Oswald of Northumbria). In the south-west corner is the original 1881 wooden screen for the south porch entrance. Note the plain capitals of the columns in the nave.
