Summary

Description
English: Founded with a Saxon nunnery circa AD 700, Coventry has endured conflict with King Canute, Henry II, Henry VIII, Charles I and, in 1940, with Hitler’s Luftwaffe. 23rd March 1956, Her Majesty the Queen laid the foundation stone for the New Cathedral. The architect is Sir Basil Spence.
