English: A big block of brown and buff Burmantofts terracotta. It resembles a confection with a rich chocolate base. The Kahn system for construction was used - underneath is reinforced concrete, so there the resemblance ends. There are irregular projections and recessions to the main front. Built 1907-11 by Woodhouse, Corbett & Dean. Grade II listed. It was built as a YMCA, complete with gymnasium, running track, and top-floor swimming pool.
