Description
English: Church of England parish church of St Etheldreda, Horley, Oxfordshire: the Gothic revival pulpit of 1836 in the parish church was decorated in 1950 with scenes from the life of the patron saint. In the left-hand panel she holds a model of Ely cathedral, which she founded in AD 660; in the right she is shown resting on her flight from Egfrith of Northumbria, beneath the tree which miraculously sprouted from her staff to shelter her. http://www.earlybritishkingdoms.com/adversaries/bios/etheldreda.html
