St. Mary's Catholic Church Pine Bluff, WI

Large modern entrance vestibule added in 1989. Construction of a present church began in 1888, and it as dedicated on November 27, 1889. The cost of this third, substantially larger Catholic church, built closer to Highway P than the two earlier ones, was $10,728. For the masonry and carpentry work, the contractors,Marty and Stark, received $8,500. Much of the stone used in the previous church was recycled for the new one, as were may of the interior furnishings. A year later in 1890 sixteen stained-glass windows, paid by subscription, were installed. Nearly a century later, in 1989, St. Mary's Parish members instituted a drive to raise funds for bathrooms and a narthex for the church. When their efforts generated only limited success, Jim and Joyce Kalscheur subscribed the cost of the new addition that was dedicated on June 10, 1990.
