Summary

Description Two Royal Air Force Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX of No. 611 Squadron (West Lancashire), based at RAF Biggin Hill, London (UK), in 1943. Aircraft FY-F was flown by squadron CO Squadron Leader Armstrong (an Australian). The photo is part of a lager formation of eight Spitfires, taken out of a Lockheed Hudson as a public relations photo over Biggin Hill.
